Old Salem Sertoma Club Supports The Community Care Center with Grant Donation

Winston-Salem, NC 27101 – Old Salem Sertoma is proud to announce it is a recipient of a 2021 Sertoma Club Grant, marking the club’s continued commitment to volunteer service, charitable support and community leadership in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County area. Funds from the grant will go to benefit the Community Care Center in support of providing health care services and medicines to uninsured patients who don’t qualify for federal or private insurance and have family incomes below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Old Salem Sertoma has been a continued supporter of the Community Care Center after a very moving presentation of the organization by the late Ward Miller. On behalf of Old Salem Sertoma, Dr. Iman J Moore, president and Barbara Davis-Porter, vice president of Health and Cheer, presented $1000 to Tim Clontz, Executive Director, and special guest Vicki Miller, to continue the work they do to change the community as a volunteer-based, free, non-profit healthcare clinic that treats the whole person and family.

Old Salem Sertoma Club is part of the national Sertoma, Inc. family of local civic service clubs. A thriving nonprofit service organization that has been in existence for over a century, Sertoma is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those at risk or impacted by hearing loss through education and support.

“Sertomans throughout the United States and Canada are dedicated to creating communities that serve the needs of many,” said Amy Ellington, Sertoma Interim Executive Director. “We created this grant program to help members like Old Salem Sertoma support community charitable programs and organizations.”
